Non-Contact Thermometer

  • My Review: Klein Tools IR1 Infrared Thermometer

I’ve been using the Klein Tools IR1 for about six months now, and it’s become my go-to temp gun for quick diagnostics. The -4 to 752°F range handles everything I throw at it-from checking supply vents to measuring furnace heat exchangers. What I appreciate most is the reliability. Some cheaper infrared guns give you wildly inconsistent readings, but this Klein stays accurate job after job. The laser pointer is bright enough to see in daylight, and the trigger feels solid, not like it’ll break after a few thousand pulls. It’s not fancy-no Bluetooth or data logging-but that’s fine by me. I need a thermometer that works when I’m crammed in an attic or troubleshooting a rooftop unit. The IR1 delivers without the unnecessary bells and whistles. For the price point, it’s hard to beat.
